Culture Shock

When arriving in Tobago, the first stage of culture shock I’m going to experience is the honeymoon phase. During this phase I am going to love the cultural difference between Canada and Tobago. I’ll enjoy the difference in the weather, the locals and the freedom I have away from Canada. After this phase, I’ll start experiencing the negotiation phase when I start becoming depressed. I could crave the food I used to eat at home, miss my family and friends, find the locals’ habits annoying, and miss the way my life was at home. If I do experience this phase it’ll only be in the last few days of my trip since I am only going for 2 weeks, and people don’t usually experience it until after a few weeks. This means that I won’t experience the last two phases: the adjustment phase and the reverse culture shock because I won’t be in Tobago for long enough.
